Richard is the technical supervisor and lead technician for the complex scattering group in charge of organizing and overseeing the efforts of the technicians providing support for the program beamlines IXS, CMS, CHX, SMI, ISR and OPLS.
Richard has been at the laboratory for 46 years starting his career in 1978 at the NSLS as a vacuum technician during the construction phase of the NSLS accelerator. In 1986 he joined the NSLS instrumentation and beam development group building beamlines and providing experimental support for the user community until the closure of NSLS in 2014. In 2014 he transferred to NSLS II as lead technician in charge of supporting Complex Scattering Beamlines construction, maintenance, development and operations.
