Expertise

Tiffany was trained as a microscopist specializing in UV-vis microscopy, FTIR-Imaging and X-ray Fluorescence Microscopy. She has expertise in the preparation, preservation, and X-ray microanalysis of biological and environmental samples. In her current role, she provides scientific user support for BER researchers at the imaging and microscopy beamlines at NSLS-II. She currently works on developing X-ray sensitive tags such as Lanthanide Binding Tags (LBTs) to image proteins in cells and tissues using X-ray Fluorescence Microscopy.

Research Activities

Plant-microbe symbiotic systems, trace metal imaging in cells and tissues, X-ray sensitive tags, cryogenic tools for X-ray fluorescence microscopy of biological samples

Education

Ph.D. 2018:  Chemistry, Stony Brook University (Stony Brook, NY)

B.Sc. 2012: Chemistry, Grambling State University (Grambling, La)
