Users' Meeting 2023

RHIC & AGS Annual Users' Meeting 2023

Dates: August 1–4, 2023

This meeting will be held as a virtual event.

Motivation

The Annual RHIC & AGS Users' Meeting will be held on August 1–4, 2023. The meeting will highlight the latest results from the PHENIX, STAR and sPHENIX experiments and provide an outlook with the future programs at RHIC and the EIC.

Workshops that will be held hybrid on Tuesday, August 1st and Wednesday, August 2nd will enable more in-depth discussions of the beam energy scan, machine learning, measurements of hard probes in heavy ion collisions, diversity, physics opportunities at the EIC and recent detector developments at RHIC and EIC. There will be an in-person poster session on Thursday, August 3rd.

Plenary sessions will be held in person on Thursday, August 3rd and Friday, August 4th. Reports on operation status from the sPHENIX and STAR experiments and highlights from PHENIX, sPHENIX and STAR experiments, EIC detectors, reports from representatives from the funding agencies, and award ceremonies will be held during the plenary sessions.

The Annual RHIC & AGS Users' Meeting will be held online on June 8–11, 2021. The meeting will highlight the latest physics results from the STAR and PHENIX experiments and provide an outlook with the continuation of the STAR beam energy scan, the sPHENIX program, and the EIC.

Workshops that will be held on Tuesday, June 8th and Wednesday June 9th will enable more in-depth discussions of the beam energy scan, measurements of hard probes in heavy ion collisions, studies of small systems, strong field effects, cold QCD, careers in data science, physics opportunities at the EIC, and detector developments at the EIC. There will be a poster session on Thursday, June 10th. We will have plenary sessions on Thursday, June 10th and Friday, June 11th.

Presentations of highlights from all four RHIC experiments, the latest physics results from STAR and PHENIX experiments, an in-depth look at the proposed detector upgrades and future experiments, reports from representatives from the funding agencies, and award ceremonies will also be held during the plenary sessions

Motivation

Following the highly successful celebration of the 20th anniversary of the first collisions at RHIC earlier this year on June 12th, we are hosting an abbreviated, online-only Annual Users Meeting on October 22–23, 2020. The workshops will enable more in-depth discussions of the beam energy scan, measurements of hard probes in heavy ion collisions, studies of small systems, strong field effects, and cold QCD. The plenary session will include the latest physics results from STAR and PHENIX, reports about the current operational status, and updates from the proposed detector upgrades and future experiments. We will conclude the plenary session with award ceremonies.

RHIC & AGS Annual Users' Meeting 2019

The Golden Age of Heavy Ion Collisions

Dates: June 4–7, 2019

This meeting will be held as an in-person event.

Motivation

The Annual RHIC & AGS Users' Meeting will be held on June 4–7, 2019 at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The theme of this year’s meeting is "The Golden Age of Heavy Ion Collisions." This year's meeting will cover all aspects of the RHIC/AGS scientific program, from the newest results of the beam energy scan to the latest measurements with polarized proton-proton collisions.

Workshops that will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday June 4th and 5th will enable more in-depth discussions of isobar & beam energy scan programs, measurements of hard probes in heavy ion collisions, studies of small systems and cold QCD with a look at future upgrades. A special workshop on diversity and career development and inclusiveness will be held Wednesday afternoon.

The presentations of the latest physics results from STAR and PHENIX experiments, an in-depth look at the proposed detector upgrades, reports from representatives from the funding agencies, and award ceremonies will be held during the plenary sessions on Thursday and Friday June 6th and 7th. The meeting will adjourn with an open forum followed by a catered luncheon on Friday afternoon.

Evening Dinner - Join us for a night at Painters' Restaurant with floor-to-ceiling art and enjoy an eclectic menu of chic eats on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, 6:00 PM. Please note, there will be a fee in order to attend the dinner. However, the cost of the dinner will be discounted to $25 US for the first 30 registered student/postdocs. Directions

Evening Reception - There will be a reception on Thursday, June 6, 2019, 6:00 PM in the lobby of Berkner Hall (Bldg. 488), compliments of BSA.

Poster Coordinators

All students and post-docs are invited to submit posters exhibiting their research for the Poster Session to be held during the RHIC & AGS Annual Users' Meeting. A cash prize will be awarded. Posters will be presented on Thursday, June 6, 2019. Click the registration button below if you wish to present a poster. Any posters submitted by a STAR or PHENIX participant will require the approval of the collaboration in order to be displayed at the Users' Meeting.
