The Technology Maturation Program is designed to allow BNL researchers to perform additional research and development on selected technologies to demonstrate commercial application. After the maturation effort, a technology will reflect a clearer commercial potential to industry and BNL will be in a better position to transfer the technology to industry. An industry partner is not required for submission of a proposal under the Technology Maturation Program. The maximum amount available per project under this program is $50,000 for a twelve month period.

One of ten national laboratories overseen and primarily funded by the Office of Science of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Brookhaven National Laboratory conducts research in the physical, biomedical, and environmental sciences, as well as in energy technologies and national security. Brookhaven Lab also builds and operates major scientific facilities available to university, industry and government researchers.
