Process for Obtaining a NIH "eRA Commons" Account/Username at BNL

BNL employees who wish to establish an eRA-Commons account and username should contact Alison Schwarz at extension 3428.  When setting up an account, NIH asks for several pieces of information.  Required data is marked by an asterisk (*).

First name  *
Middle name or initial (if used professionally)
Last name  *
E-mail address  *
Birth date
Social Security Number
Prior support (please provide past grant number)
Proposed username  *

Proposed usernames should be between 6-20 characters long and may include any combination of letters and/or numbers.  Usernames must be unique to the eRA system; the system does not allow for two individuals to use the same username.  Because a person's first choice of a username is often already in use, we ask you to provide us a second and third alternative choice.

Shortly after all data is entered by our office, eRA Commons sends an e-mail to the new user providing a password that permits access to the system.

If you have any questions regarding the registration process or subsequent use of eRA Commons, contact Alison Schwarz at extension 3428.
