Dear CFN Users,

I hope you are well and had a restful and festive holiday season! As we jump into 2024, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our engaged users and wish everyone a happy and prosperous new year. We have exciting updates to share since our last edition.
The CFN UEC was able to support special coffee hours to complement networking opportunities during the special Nano Day and Thanksgiving holiday events. In the spirit of starting new traditions, we are also thrilled to add a people’s choice award to the annual CFN image contest. Voting was open to all, including the broader networks of CFN users. Congratulations to Laiba Bilal for winning this award in both the “Scientific” and “My Life at CFN” categories.

I also want to take this opportunity to thank several users who stepped up to the task of shaping our upcoming NSLS-II & CFN Users' Meeting by joining the planning committees, including UEC members Karen Chen-Wiegart, Laiba Bilal, Manuel Lozano-Arroyo, and Nataniel Medina Barrios. I want to give special thanks, as well, to Andreas Liapis, Beatrice Bellini, Shyam Patel, Terence Collier, Tharanga Nanayakkara, Youngseok Yu, Fatima Amir, Matthew Carbone, Tetyana Delaney, and Don DiMarzio for their efforts to make the 2024 Users’ Meeting happen! We are currently accepting workshop proposals until Jan. 22, 2024; more details can be found in the message from the user office.
