Visit Justification: Attend NFPA 45-Fire Safety in Research Labs – The course will familiarize participants with the fire protection requirements in NFPA 45, Fire Protection in Laboratories Using Chemicals, 2024 Edition and the International Fire Code (IFC), 2024 Edition Chapter 38.

Important Notice: Non-U.S. citizens must complete an additional Brookhaven Lab Guest Form by October 8, 2024 and be approved in the Brookhaven Lab Guest Information System (GIS) before they can participate in this event Participation includes accessing the Laboratory to attend in-person or viewing the event remotely. Completing the Brookhaven Lab Guest Form does not automatically register you for this event.

If you have a current Brookhaven Lab guest appointment and a valid Brookhaven National Lab (BNL) Guest Number or BNL Employee Life Number or you have a pending BNL Guest Registration (GR) Number, it is not necessary to complete the additional BNL Guest Form again.

Notice for Non-U.S. Citizens

All non-US attendees must have an active Brookhaven Lab guest appointment prior to arrival in order to obtain site access. For in-person events, it is advisable not to make travel arrangements until you are approved in the Guest Information System.

Non-U.S. citizens who have an active and up to date Brookhaven Lab appointment, but whose Passport, Visa, or U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) documentation have expired must bring their updated paperwork with them and check-in at the Guest, User, Visitor (GUV) Center between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday to update their USCIS documentation.

Upon arrival at BNL, please go to the GUV Center located in the Research Support Building (Bldg. 400) to check-in. Please make sure to bring proper identification.
