John leads the Controls Software Group within the C-AD Controls Systems Section of C-AD. The Controls Software Group develops, improves, and maintains the software for C-AD accelerator controls systems and R&D projects.
Expertise
John has more than 3 decades of experience in software engineering and management for scientific applications. He began his career developing image processing software for NASA satellite data. He also worked on data acquisition and processing projects for the National Institutes of Health and the National Weather Service before coming to BNL in 1989. He has worked on a wide variety of controls software projects for RHIC and other C-AD accelerators during his time in the department.
Education
John received a B.S. in Physics, with a minor in Computer Science, from the State University of New York at Albany. He also holds an M.A. in Public Policy from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
