I have worked at BNL as a mechanical engineer for more than 33 years since 1992.  My successfully developed systems include: EBIS 1st and 2nd generation Laser Ion Source (LION1 & LIONII), LEReC DC gun system (including Gun chambers, Photocathode production, Cathode puck insertion, and cathode puck transferring system), RHIC Stochastic cooling kickers and pickups, RHIC BBLR Compensator, SNS Beam Diagnostic instruments, and RHIC STAR SVT.  Some of my development work had been published at the Particle Accelerator Conference (PAC).  Numerous equipment had also been successfully upgraded through these years, such as:  RHIC Mask Assembly, AGS Fast Spin Resonance Jump Quad Magnet, RHIC 9 MHz Cavity, RHIC 6300 amp and 12 x 150 cryogenic magnet power leads, and Booster Wall Current Monitor upgrade, ..., etc.

I am currently the lead mechanical engineer to develop the HSR pulsed injection kicker for the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) use.

Expertise

Developed or Upgrdes equipment for the accelerator use.  The major developed equipment include:  EIC Ultra-Fast Pulsed system, LEReC DC Gun, Cathode Puck Insertion/transfer, and Photocathode Production System, EBIS Laser Ion Source (V.1 and V.2), RHIC Stochastic cooling kickers and pickups, RHIC BBLR Compensator, SNS Beam Diagnostic instruments, and RHIC STAR SVT.  The major upgraded equipment includes RHIC Mask Assembly, AGS Fast Spin Resonance Jump Quad Magnet, RHIC 9 MHz Cavity, RHIC 6300 amp and 12 x 150 cryogenic magnet power leads, and Booster Wall Current Monitor upgrade.
Modeling and Analysis using ANSYS and SINDA/FLUINT.  ANSYS was used to perform linear/nonlinear structual analysis on the newly design structures, such as: pressure vessels and magnets and to perform linear/nonlinear thermal analysis to the heating problems generated on the magnets and on the electronics.  SINDA/FLUINT was used to successfully simulate the scenario, when there is a catastrophic failure in the cooling lines, similar to LHC superconducting bus failure, in RHIC's helium distribution system.  ODH requirement in the RHIC tunnel was re-classified, basing on the simulation results.

Lead and Manage projects: EBIS Laser Ion Source,  EIC Ultra-fast striplinen kicker system, LEReC DC gun system,  RHIC Stochastic cooling kicker & pickup, SNS Diagnostic instruments, and RHIC STAR SVT.

Experiences: ASME pressure vessel codes,SF6 gas safety, Creo and Autocad 3D modeling, ANSYS anaysis.
