Mark Hoffmann Wallner is a Staff Electrical Engineer in the Radiofrequency Systems Group of the Collider-Accelerator Department at Brookhaven National Laboratory. He works in the development, operation, maintenance and improvement of radiofrequency systems for particle accelerators. Mark's expertise lies in the development of highly efficient high-power solid-state amplifiers using LDMOS and GaN technology. Mark employs electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical simulations to design radiofrequency amplifiers, and he builds and tests prototypes using equipments like vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers and oscilloscope in specialized high-power measurement setups. Mark also provide support to the operation and maintenance of the suite of particle accelerators of the Collider-Accelerator Complex, with a focus on the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider.
