Motivation
Virtual Human Twins are rapidly evolving from scientific vision to clinical reality. By integrating dynamic modeling with biological and clinical data, these biomedical digital twins are reshaping how we understand, prevent, and treat disease.
Yet, realizing their full potential requires more than technical progress. It calls for coordinated action across disciplines, patient perspectives, clear regulatory pathways, sustainable infrastructure, and strong societal alignment.
The Second Virtual Human Global Summit (VHGS II), will be held formally in Barcelona on October 23–24, 2025, with an exciting alternative venue in New York City, bringing together international opinion leaders from science, medicine, government, and industry. The VHGS II summit builds on the outcomes of the inaugural VHGS held in 2023, focusing on accelerating adoption and impact.
Over two days of dialogue and exchange, participants will explore how to:
- Align research with clinical and industry needs
- Coordinate policy and public-sector action
- Develop shared infrastructure and IP frameworks
- Address ethical and societal dimensions
- Build international cooperation for real-world scale
VHGS II aims to deliver actionable outcomes, including a summary report and roadmap for the responsible, equitable, and effective use of Virtual Human Twins in healthcare systems worldwide.
Invitation-only gathering of opinion leaders across the biomedical landscape:
- Scientists and technology innovators
- Clinicians (and healthcare providers)
- Industry leaders in pharma, medtech, and digital health
- Regulatory authorities and government agencies
- Patient advocates and ethicists
Following the success of the first edition of the VHGS in New York City and the insights shared in the meeting report, VHGS II focuses on the real-world adoption of Virtual Human Twins.
Together, we will tackle the critical challenges identified in 2023:
- Aligning research and clinical priorities
- Defining regulatory and legal pathways
- Building the infrastructure for large-scale deployment
- Ensuring equitable, global access
- Fostering public trust and societal readiness
- From innovation to implementation: proven strategies for clinical and regulatory adoption
- Cross-sector coordination: bridging gaps between research, industry, and government
- Patient-centered impact: improving outcomes, reducing costs, and enhancing care
- Sustainability and scalability: preparing for long-term integration into health systems
- A published meeting report
- Recommendations for evidence generation, funding models, and global cooperation
- Shared insight on global priorities for
- High-impact clinical applications, development of common IP frameworks and regulatory clarity
- Adoption and patient benefit
- Fair access for large-scale implementation by governments and healthcare
