Description
The 12th APXPS Workshop (APXPS-2025) follows a successful series of APXPS workshops held annually since 2014 and hosted by various international synchrotron light sources and research institutions. This conference will bring together scientists, researchers, and students from around the world who develop and/or use ambient pressure X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (APXPS) in their research in order to share their latest scientific discoveries and technical innovations.
Scientific topics include catalysis, electrochemistry, energy storage, interface science, environmental science, materials science, and more. Researchers who use or develop other in situ/operando techniques as well as perform relevant theoretical calculations are also welcome. Those who are interested in learning more about APXPS and how to use it in their research are also encouraged to participate in this workshop to learn about this powerful and versatile technique from the international experts.
The workshop will feature talks from plenary and invited speakers, as well as from contributed speakers. The agenda also includes a poster session, a technical discussion session, a facility updates session, sponsor exhibitions, and a facility tour. Please join us and share your exciting research with the international APXPS community and play a part in determining the future direction of this field!

Banquet Dinner
Registered participants are invited to attend the banquet dinner on Thursday, December 11, 2025, 5-8 p.m. The banquet dinner will be held in the beautiful Coliseum Room at the Long Island Aquarium attached to the conference venue. The optional banquet dinner fee is $100.00 per person.
NSLS-II Facility Tour
Registered participants can tour the National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II), a state-of-the-art, 3 GeV electron storage ring designed to deliver world-leading intensity and brightness on Friday, December 12, 2025, 1:30 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
As one of the newest, most advanced synchrotron light sources in the world, it can create light beams 10 billion times brighter than the sun. These light beams are then directed towards specialized experimental stations called beamlines. Bus transportation will be provided from Atlantis Hotel and Conference Center/Brookhaven Lab. There is no cost to attend the tour. Details, Maps & Directions
