Electron-Ion Collider

Resource Review Board (RRB) Meeting

Dates: November 12–13, 2024

This meeting will be held as an in-person event and hosted by Brookhaven National Laboratory, Jefferson Lab and Stony Brook University.

Motivation

The Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) Resource Review Board (EIC-RRB) is organized by the EIC Host Laboratories, Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) and Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (TJNAF), and supported by participation by the EIC project and the EIC experiment collaboration. The EIC-RRB is comprised of the representatives of the international funding agencies supporting institutions collaborating on the EIC detector(s) and representatives from the two host labs.

The EIC-RRB will provide coordination during detector development, construction, and operations. The 4th meeting of the EIC-RRB is on November 12–13, 2024.

  • RRB Co-Chairpersons: Abhay Deshpande, BNL Interim Associate Laboratory Director for Nuclear and Particle Physics, and Diego Bettoni, Vice President of INFN.
  • Representatives of the Host Laboratories: Abhay Deshpande, BNL Interim Associate Laboratory Director for Nuclear and Particle Physics, and David Dean, Deputy Director for Science, Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility.

Motivation

The Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) Resources Review Board (EIC-RRB) is organized by the EIC Host Laboratories, Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) and Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (TJNAF) and supported by participation by the EIC project and the EIC experiment collaboration. The EIC-RRB is comprised of the representatives of the international funding agencies supporting institutions who collaborate on the EIC detector(s) and representatives from the two host labs.

The EIC-RRB will provide coordination during detector development, construction, and operations. The 3rd meeting of the EIC-RRB is on May 6–7, 2024.

This meeting will be held as an in-person event and hosted by Brookhaven National Laboratory, Jefferson Lab and Stony Brook University.

Motivation

The Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) Resources Review Board (EIC-RRB) is organized by the EIC Host Laboratories, Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) and Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (TJNAF) and supported by participation by the EIC project and the EIC experiment collaboration. The EIC-RRB is comprised of the representatives of the international funding agencies supporting institutions who collaborate on the EIC detector(s) and representatives from the two host labs.

The EIC-RRB will provide coordination during detector development, construction, and operations. The 1st meeting of the EIC-RRB is on April 3–4, 2023. The main goals for the meeting are to establish the RRB charter, naming an international Co-Chairperson, review plans for the EIC facility and the experiment, and the plans for the EIC experiment collaboration.

  • Co-Chairpersons: Associate Laboratory Director for Nuclear and Particle Physics, Haiyan Gao, and a Co-Chair from a non-DOE international funding agency to be named at the 1st meeting.
