UPTON, NY - The classic rock band Mostly Moptop will perform at the U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory on Saturday, October 24, at 8 p.m. in the Berkner auditorium. Sponsored by the BNL Music Club, the event is open to the public. All visitors to the Laboratory 16 and older must bring a photo I.D.

Mostly Moptop derived their name from pop culture’s famous bowl-style haircut first sported by the Beatles in the early days of their fame. Formed in 1995, Mostly Moptop performs music from the Beatles repertoire as well as other classic rock songs from the 1960s to the early 1980s. Their playlist features renditions of well-known Beatles tunes, as well as some solo work of the famed “Fab Four.”

The seasoned band members of Mostly Moptop are Anthony Pomes, rhythm and lead guitar, bass, piano; John Tabacco, drums, piano, bass; Eddie Franz, rhythm and lead guitar, bass; and Paul Michael Barkan, bass, keyboards. On occasion, fifth moptop Don Larsen, a freelance percussionist, will perform with the band. The band members, recognized for their strong vocals, songwriting, and production talent, have performed with well-known musicians including Micky Dolenz of the Monkees, Petula Clark and Doc Severinsen. In addition to performing at local venues, they have also performed with the Beatles Magical Orchestra conducted by noted American composer David Amram.

Tickets for the show are $15 in advance and $20 the day of the show. Tickets may be purchased through www.ticketweb.com or at the door. Advance ticket purchase is recommended. For more information call 631 344-5139.
