Celebrate the Equinox

Earth and Sun

Twice a year, at two specific moments in March and September, the center of the sun can be observed to be vertically above the earth's equator. This is called Equinox, and this year it occurs on March 20 at 11:44 a.m.

As part of the "Cafe Physics" program designed by Helio Takai to highlight and promote science in interesting ways, Takai, with Sean McCorkle and Joe Vignola, will put on a layman show that includes a combination of light, sound, electrical charge, and musical interludes.

All are welcome to attend this free event scheduled for March 20, 6 p.m., at the Brookhaven Center.

For more information, contact Takai at Ext. 2812, takai@bnl.gov.
