In Memoriam: Frederick Molone

Frederick Molone, whose time at Brookhaven National Laboratory spanned 44 years, died May 24, 2020. He was 62.

Molone held number of positions in more than four decades with Brookhaven. He arrived in 1976 as a laborer in Plant Engineering, where he later worked as a custodian. He was messenger in Staff Service from 1978 to 1980 and rejoined the same group as mail clerk for the same group in 1995.

In between and after those years, he joined the former Central Shops Division as a helper and tool crib attendant.

He began his most recent role as a tool crib attendant in the Production Division’s Architectural Services.

“Fred was a quiet man who performed his job as asked,” said Mike Wooley, Architectural General Supervisor. “He took care of the 479 tool crib’s equipment and dispensable items, and he assured that the crib was well stocked and inventoried.”
