Scheduled Activities
Show: Liquid Nitrogen: Science, Magic, or Both?
See how bone-chilling liquid nitrogen blurs the lines between science and magic. This show is suitable for all ages.
Noon • 1:30 p.m. • 3 p.m. (1 hour)
Doors open 15 minutes before showtime. Arrive early. Seating is first come, first served.
Talk: From Fossils to Fine Art: How X-rays Uncover Ancient Secrets
Learn how scientists diagnosed a dinosaur's bone disease and identified a lost Rembrandt painting, thanks to the ultrabright light and technologies available at NSLS-II. This talk is recommended for those ages 10 and older.
Speakers: Peter Siddons and Michael Drakopoulos of NSLS-II

All-Day Activities
National Synchrotron Light Source II
You're invited to tour the experimental floor at NSLS-II, which produces light 10 billion times brighter than the sun for cutting-edge research. Explore the facility, join in hands-on science fun at interactive stations, and become a “junior operator” by controlling a model of the NSLS-II facility.
This tour starts from Berkner Hall Room B. Bus transportation is provided. Arrive by 2:30 p.m. for the last bus to the facility.
Hands-on Science Activities
Enjoy activities with energy sticks, microscopes, and candy crystals in Berkner Hall.
Key: Bus from Berkner Hall Walk from Berkner Hall
