AAAG 2022 STEM Scholarship Awards Ceremony, 7/20

The African American Advancement Group (AAAG) will hold its annual Scholarship Award Program on Wednesday, July 20, at noon. The AAAG program offers scholarships to qualified candidates to encourage underrepresented minority students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM). This year, AAAG is presenting its scholarships to seven local high school seniors who plan to pursue STEM in college and in their careers.

Lab Director Doon Gibbs will open the ceremony with a welcome message. All are welcome to attend. You can join the ceremony via Zoom.

The AAAG STEM Scholarship awards $1,000 to high school seniors of African American heritage residing in Suffolk County and is made possible by funding from Brookhaven Science Associates (BSA), the Lab Director’s Office, AAAG fund-raising efforts, and donors.

The Vincent J. Castillo STEM Scholarship awards $1,000 to high school seniors of African, West Indian, or Hispanic descent who are U.S. citizens, and residing in Suffolk County. The family of former Brookhaven Lab employee Vincent Castillo provides funding to support the award named for him.
