The Brookhaven National Laboratory African American Advancement Group (AAAG) is excited to announce the 2024 AAAG STEM Scholarship and the Vincent J. Castillo STEM Scholarship. These scholarships, sponsored by the AAAG employee resource group, provide financial support to high school seniors planning to pursue degrees in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) fields.

The AAAG STEM Scholarship offers several $1,000 awards to African American high school seniors in Suffolk County. This scholarship is designed to recognize students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, leadership qualities, and a commitment to community service.

The Vincent J. Castillo STEM Scholarship, also awarding $1,000, is available to high school seniors of African, West Indian, or Hispanic heritage. Named in honor of Vincent Castillo, a dedicated Brookhaven Lab employee and advocate for diversity in science, this scholarship continues his legacy of supporting underrepresented minorities in STEM.
