Brookhaven Women in Science (BWIS) invites the BNL community to a summer reception and presentation of the Renate W. Chasman Scholarship for Women on Friday, September 21, from 5:15 to 7 p.m. in the Collider-Accelerator Department lobby, Bldg. 911.

Named after Renate Chasman, a renowned physicist whose work influenced the design of particle accelerators around the world, the $2,000 scholarship is awarded each year to a woman whose college education was interrupted, but who then returns to pursue a degree on a halftime or greater basis. BWIS offers the scholarship to qualified candidates annually to encourage women to pursue careers in science, engineering, or mathematics.
