Supervisor Info Services EIC, Information Services, Electron-Ion Collider
Alyssa Petrone is the Group Leader for EIC Information Services. She is responsible for overseeing Information Technology, Document Control, Committees, and Administrative Support. Alyssa also serves as the Assistant to the EIC Project Director/Associate Laboratory Director, Jim Yeck. She started out at the Lab in 2011 in Records Management and has held various other administrative roles, including CAD Procedure Coordinator and Senior Administrative Assistant.
Prior to her current role in EIC, Alyssa served as a Senior Administrative Assistant for the EIC R&D Division in the Collider-Accelerator Department. She played a key role in pioneering modern SharePoint sites in O365, building review sites, site templates, and an electronic document center, as well as coordinating high-level reviews, assisting in the preparation of documentation for the EIC proposal and editing the EIC Pre-Conceptual Design Report.
Outside the Laboratory, Alyssa has held various positions in the Library Science field including university reference services, archives, publications, and children's services. Her library background has given her a unique perspective and diverse skill set which she now applies to various aspects of her current role such as information management, outreach, ID&E, and event coordination.
Bachelor of Arts from Stony Brook University, concentration in 19th Century American Literature. Honors Thesis: "True Womanhood: A Performance by Alcott's Pauline Valary and Jean Muir."
Masters of Library Science from St. John's University, concentration in Children's Services.
