Dr. Chimanski is a theoretical physicist in the National Nuclear Data Center (NNDC) at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL). He has a Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics from the Aeronautics Institute of Technology (ITA), Brazil, on quantum mechanical models of direct reactions under advisory of Prof. Dr. Brett V. Carlson (ITA) and Dr. Roberto Capote (IAEA). Before joining BNL he was a postdoc at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), under supervision of Dr. Jutta E. Escher, to develop microscopic description of deformed nuclei for structure modeling and nucleon-induced reactions. Dr. Chimanski has experience in nuclear structure/reaction theory and numerical codes. His currently interests are in the structure and direct reactions involving deformed nuclei and a detail description of gamma-ray production from neutron induced reactions.
