George Dacos is a Mechanical Engineer working within the Technical Systems Division Mechanical Engineering Group for the Electron Ion Collider. George has broad engineering and project management background from work on design, fabrication and integration of Military Airborne Sensors and Motion Control systems for various markets (semiconductor, medical and space). He also has design experience with developing Superconducting RF Accelerator Systems (RF Cavities and Cryomodules) planned for Energy Recovery Linac from when he worked at Advanced Energy Systems (AES) and also design/integration of Front End Beamline components from when he worked for Photon Sciences - Accelerator Division on a multitude of NSLS II Beamlines. George recently spent the better part of 5 years as the Mid-Atlantic, Northeast and Eastern Canada Regional Sales Engineer for manufacturer of Ultrasonic Standing Wave Piezo Motors and Motion Systems servicing Semiconductor, Medical and Aerospace/Defense Markets. His broad engineering and management background positions him well to contribute to the success of the EIC Project.
Outside of work, George is a US Soccer Federation licensed soccer coach where he previously coached NCAA D-1 Collegiate Men's Soccer at SBU and Youth Soccer for over 25 years with various clubs on Long Island.
