Michael Perry

Michael Perry is the newest addition to the Export Control Group at Brookhaven National Lab; he will support the team and pave the path forward for export compliance and excellence.  The Export Control Group is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with the International Traffic in Arms (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) as it pertains to exports.  The primary mission for the Export Control Group is to ensure BNL is compliant with its export activity while being an educational resource for BNL employees to seek guidance with export related questions.

Michael comes to BNL with an extensive government background serving 30 years combined State/Federal Law Enforcement in addition to 25 years of Active & Reserve service in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy.  His extensive career path included Deputy Sheriff (NYS), Police Officer with the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, Special Agent with U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and Special Agent with the U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Industry & Security.  His military career allowed him to serve his country for 25 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer after deployments to Afghanistan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and numerous support deployments around the world.
