Summary

DNA superlattices may provide a route towards realizing meso- to macro-scale materials with nanoscale material complexity by offering both a means to place materials (e.g., nanoparticles) and template mineral, metal, or metal oxide growth. However, there is a need to be able to selectively place DNA superlattices on specific surfaces in support of the fabrication of DNA-assembly-based functional devices. The present innovation relates to the field of self-assembling materials and to lattice-structured materials, specifically DNA nanotechnology for enabling precise nanoscale material assembly, including creating superlattices with 3D organization of materials.
