How to nominate yourself as a candidate

All BNL/BSA employees with a valid ID badge are eligible for BERA Board membership.

To enter your name as a Board candidate, create a brief biographical sketch and email it to BERAoffice@bnl.gov. Your bio should highlight key details that will help voters get to know you, such as your role at the Lab, how long you have been here, any past involvement with BERA, and why you are interested in serving on the Board. You may also include relevant skills, experiences, or interests that align with BERA’s mission and would make you a strong candidate. This bio will be used on marketing material for the election, along with your headshot. The headshot must be taken by a Laboratory photographer. Portraits can be scheduled on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. You may schedule an appointment online. The headshot can be submitted after your bio if need be.

You may actively campaign by discussing your candidacy throughout the Laboratory. New BERA Board members will take office in May 2025. A Welcome & Goodbye dinner will be scheduled in May.
