Hispanic Dance Performance to be Held at Brookhaven Lab, September 18
Sol y Sombra to Feature Flamenco Music and Dance

UPTON, NY - The U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory will hold a Hispanic dance performance at the Laboratory's Berkner Hall on Saturday, September 18, at 7 p.m. Featuring the Sol y Sombra Dance Company in a program called "Ida y Vuelta: Dances of Spain and Latin America," the performance will explore the similarities of the music and dances of these areas and will include Flamenco dance with singers and musicians, Argentinean tangos, and the national dances of Mexico. The concert is open to the public. All visitors to the Laboratory age 16 and over must bring a photo ID.
Founded in 1984 by Maria Loreta, the Sol y Sombra Dance Company is a not-for-profit company composed of nationally recognized professionals in the field of Spanish dance and music. The company has served as a vehicle for an educational and aesthetic appreciation of Hispanic culture throughout the New York metropolitan area and beyond. Sol y Sombra's performance has been made possible in part with grants from the Suffolk County Office of Cultural Affairs and the New York State Arts Council.
Advance-sale tickets for the performance cost $12 for adults and $6 for children under age 10. Tickets purchased at the door on the evening of the performance cost $15 for adults and $8 for children under 10. Seating is limited, so purchasing advance-sale tickets is recommended.

BERA Sales Office, Bldg. 488, Berkner Hall, Upton, NY 11973-5000. Include your return address and phone number. Tickets will be mailed to you if your request is postmarked no later than September 10.
