PubSci Science Café and Conversation: Entering the Quantum Realm
Brookhaven Lab scientists to discuss quantum capabilities at Lake Grove's The Village Idiot Pub

EVENT: PubSci, a science café and conversation series presented by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Brookhaven National Laboratory, is bringing science to the pub with an event titled “Entering the Quantum Realm” on May 21. Learn how scientists are untangling the strange behaviors of matter at the smallest scale for advanced computing, communications, and materials science.
All are welcome to join the conversation and talk about science in plain language with the event’s three speakers:
- Andi Barbour, beamline scientist, National Synchrotron Light Source II
- Meifeng Lin, computational scientist, Computational Science Initiative
- Julian Martinez-Rincon, quantum scientist, Instrumentation Division

The Village Idiot Pub in Lake Grove, New York, will provide a casual setting for a conversation on quantum research and applications. Menu and bar items will be available for purchase.
DETAILS: PubSci is a science café presented by Brookhaven National Laboratory’s Stakeholder Relations Office to bring expert scientists into public venues to discuss cutting-edge topics and research in an informal setting.
Admission is free. RSVPs do not guarantee seats, but you will receive a bonus raffle ticket for the chance to win Brookhaven Lab merchandise.
