Expertise

My research has focused on advanced RF systems for particle accelerators dedicated to nuclear and particle physics research and cancer treatment. From 2009 until 2012 I enjoyed a Marie Curie Early Stage Career fellowship with the PARTNER project (Particle Training Network for European Radiotherapy), which provided training on clinical, radiobiological and technological aspects involving hadron therapy. My host institutes were TERA foundation (CERN, Geneva, Switzerland) and the Instituto de Física Corpuscular (IFIC, Spain). In 2013 I earned a Ph.D with a thesis entitled "High-gradient accelerating structure studies and their application in hadron therapy". Soon after I joined BNL to work on the HL-LHC Crab Cavities. From 2013 until 2016 I enjoyed a Toohig fellowship awarded by the US LHC Accelerator Research Program (LARP). Once LARP concluded, I joined the US LHC Accelerator Upgrade Project (AUP), where I continue to participate in the HL-LHC Crab Cavities. In the past years I was involved in the design of the EIC Crab Cavities and currently I manage the "Hadron Sotrage Ring Vacuum Chamber Update R&D" work package for the EIC Project.  In 2023 I was appointed Deputy Director for the EIC's Accelerator Development and R&D Division.

Key competences: RF design, prototyping and testing at different facilities including CERN's CTF3, KEK and BNL; preparation of procedures, interface control documents and manufacturing and inspection plans; technical follow-up of prototype fabrication; coordination and planning of RF tests.
