Tech Transfer Staff Member Participates on Career Panel

The Technology Transfer Office's Poorni Upadhya recently participated on a Career Conversation panel hosted at the Middle Country Public Library for local teenagers. The panelists included an entrepreneur, sheriff, welder and corrections officer. The students were fascinated to learn that one does not need to have certain academic credentials to become an inventor!  A couple of the students discussed how they were having  tough time deciding between being a scientist, doctor, or taking up another career in the medical field.  The students were engaged and some of them were interested to follow up and learn more about the internship program at Brookhaven Lab.  Overall, it was a rewarding experience, and we are thankful for the opportunity provided by Middle Country Public Library.
