Sharing Diverse Career Paths with Girls Inc. of Long Island

Thanks to Bernadette Uzzi from Brookhaven Lab's Office of Educational Programs, the Office of Research Partnerships and Technology Transfer (RPTT) participated in a career fair hosted by Girls Inc. of Long Island at the Suffolk County Community College on a recent Saturday morning. The career fair was designed for girls of color from local underserved school districts to get an exposure to the diverse career paths available at the participating organizations. In addition to Brookhaven, a local law firm, bank, entrepreneur, and Island hockey team participated in the event. The girls were incredible! We have connected a teen who wants to intern at the Lab with Bernadette Uzzi. It was an extremely humbling and rewarding experience for the entire RPTT team. We are grateful for the opportunity.
