Technology Transfer Office Hosts Fifth Entrepreneurial Training Workshop

The Technology Transfer Office recently hosted the fifth entrepreneurial training workshop for Brookhaven Lab researchers. This annual workshop is designed to equip researchers with the foundation they need to assess and validate the critical factors around their technology products and product-enhancement ideas (including identifying potential initial customers).  This year, workshop participants vetted four Brookhaven ideas in a team setting.  Reviewers (alumni of a previous workshop) selected a pitch deck developed by the Lab’s Vanessa Sanders and Leah Gajecki on their innovation related to the development of a resin that can used in scandium generators. That pitch was presented at the National Lab Accelerator Pitch Event, held at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, in Palo Alto, CA on November 16, 2022 and hosted by Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.  In addition, Vanessa and Leah—who work in the Brookhaven Linear Isotope Producer/Medical Isotope Research and Production group—received technology maturation funds to further develop their technology.
