The Office of Research Partnerships and Technology Transfer (RPTT) welcomed Dr. Vanessa Chan, United States Department of Energy (DOE) Chief Commercialization Officer and Director of the Office of Technology Transitions, and Erik Hadland, AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow, to Brookhaven National Laboratory on Friday, January 27, 2023. 

We discussed an overview of the RPTT organization, challenges in the current innovation ecosystem, and coordinating strategies going forward. Dr. Chan participated in our Technology Transfer Workshop with Howard University and other Minority-serving institutions (MSI)s.

On January 26th, Dr. Chan was also a keynote speaker during the AccessBrookhaven event, members of RPTT provided an overview of ways to sponsor research at Brookhaven and how the U.S. Department of Energy labs engage in technology transfer.
