The Laboratory is operating a pilot program to bring food trucks on site for lunch, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Berkner (Bldg. 488), with a variety of cuisine throughout the month. Below you can find the schedule. Please note variations weekly due to holiday and weather considerations.

For guests arriving on site afterhours, the Guest, User, Visitor Center provides a list of restaurants and off site food in the local area. Individuals or groups can also order food to be delivered by external businesses or through apps such as GrubHub or DoorDash. However, individuals who do not have or use food delivery phone apps may prefer to have their own rental car.

Vending Service Machines are located in high population areas throughout the site. Machines located in the Post Office, Building 179 and the Research Support Building, Building 400 are available 24-hours 7 days per week. A small eating area and microwave oven are also provided at these locations. Overnight guests can prepare these items in the dorms and apartments, where they have access to full kitchens.

Guests planning to be on site without vehicles for more than a day or two can also take advantage of the Lab's shopping shuttle service, which runs on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings, dropping off and picking up at Southport Plaza Shopping Center in Shirley. There, they can buy groceries at the Stop & Shop supermarket, and other necessities at Kohl's department store and more than 30 other stores.
