Workshop Events

Registered participants are invited to attend the following optional no-host events:

  • Thursday Night Dinner
  • New York City Train Trip
  • Circle Line Excursion

Please note, there will be an additional fee for each event. All train and Circle Line tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE and are for those 21 years and older unless accompanied by BNL employee/parent. View Details

Visa Information

Participants should check if they require a visa to enter the United States on the U.S. Department of State's U.S. Visas website.

Foreign travelers, who are citizens from certain eligible countries, may also be able to visit the U.S. for business (e.g. attend a scientific conference) or tourism for 90 days or less without a visa if they meet the Visa Waiver Program requirements. All eligible travelers who wish to travel under the Visa Waiver Program must apply for authorization on-line through ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization).

If you require a visa to enter the U.S., we strongly recommend that you start the visa application process as soon as possible. View visa appointment and processing wait times.

Participants who require a letter of invitation for this event should contact Erica Lamar (elamar@bnl.gov) and provide the following information:

  • Your full name (as it appears in your travel documents)
  • Your home institution name and address
  • Your position at your institution

For those with a J-1 visa status, a verification letter will be required and must originate from Immigration Sponsor or Designated School official with a sentence regarding remuneration as well
