The Environment, Safety & Health (ES&H) Directorate's vision is to provide best-in-class environment, safety, and health services delivered in ways that enable world leading science and operational excellence.

Organizations within the ES&H Directorate

Environmental Protection Division (EPD)
Develops and delivers environmental products and services for all Brookhaven Lab stakeholders by managing environmental programs and by providing technical assistance on environmental requirements. Provides a variety of waste management services for Brookhaven Lab.

Radiological Control Division (RCD)
Provides technical assistance, regulatory interpretation, coverage for radiological operations, radiological engineering, internal/external dosimetry services, instrumentation services, and on- and off-site radiological emergency response.

Safety and Health Services Division (SHSD)
Committed to providing high quality, cost-effective support services to external and internal customers in the fields of Industrial Hygiene and Safety Engineering. Services are designed to assist managers in providing a safe and healthy working environment for employees and guests.
