Motivation
The International Workshop on Oxide Surfaces (IWOX) will be held in Lake
Placid, New York from January 5–10, 2020. This meeting will bring together
specialists in the field to present and discuss cutting edge research on
oxides, their surfaces, and interfaces. The scientific topics will include:
surfaces interacting with gases and liquids, two-dimensional materials and
thin films, supported oxide and metal clusters, adsorption and surface
functionalization, and energy conversion and storage applications.
Participation of students and postdocs is strongly encouraged.
Since its inception in 1999, after the Les Houches oxide conference in
France in 1997 ("IWOX-0"), IWOX workshops have been held every two years
rotating between the Americas, Europe and Asia. For the last three
Workshops, IWOX-IX was held in the west coast of USA, IWOX-X in China and
IWOX-XI in Spain. Next year it rotates back to the Americas, having for the
first time the east coast of USA as the host.
