International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) will assist young scientists to attend IXS2019. Two awards of up to USD 1,050 each are available. The IUCr Young Scientist Awards should be used solely to support travel, accommodation and subsistence expenses.
All young scientists interested in attending IXS2019 and meeting the following eligibility requirements are encouraged to apply before the abstract deadline of March 25, 2019. Awardees will be selected by the conference committees based on merit.
All applicants will be notified of the status of their application by April 14, 2019. Awardees will be announced at the meeting with a formal photo presentation of an IUCr certificate and will be given the opportunity for a 20-minute oral presentation of their work at the conference.
The International Union of Crystallography strives to achieve gender balance in all its institutions and activities bearing in mind other diversity needs and its existing obligations to geographic and academic discipline representation where appropriate.
To achieve this aim the IUCr will adopt procedures to promote gender balance in respect of all of its activities including selection of candidates for positions on its Committees and Commissions. Those seeking support from the Union for Congresses, meetings, workshops and schools will also have to demonstrate their efforts to address gender balance.
