'Simply Gershwin' Concert to be Held at Brookhaven Lab, March 9

UPTON, NY - Pianist Paul Bisaccia and tenor John Whitley will perform the music of the famous American composer George Gershwin in a concert called "Simply Gershwin" at the U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory on Wednesday, March 9, at noon in Berkner Hall. Sponsored by Brookhaven Science Associates, the company that manages Brookhaven Lab, the free concert is one of a series of noon concerts open to the public. All visitors to the Laboratory age 16 and over must bring a photo ID.
Paul Bisaccia was the first artist to record the complete piano music of George Gershwin. The PBS television special, "Gershwin by Bisaccia," has been broadcast throughout the country on over 100 television stations, and in China as well as other parts of Asia. A protégé of the renowned Brazilian pianist Luiz de Moura Castro and graduate of the Hartt School of Music, Bisaccia also received the University of Hartford's Regents' Award. He has performed around the world, bringing to audiences a blend of accessible programming and educational commentary.
Tenor John Whitley has been praised by Billboard as a great singer who brings a warm sense of humor and honesty to familiar tunes like "It Ain't Necessarily So," "Who Cares," and "Summertime."
