Classical Guitarist Paul Galbraith to Give a Concert at Brookhaven Lab, July 27

UPTON, NY - Paul Galbraith, an internationally renowned classical guitarist, will appear in concert at the U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory on Wednesday, July 27, at noon in the Laboratory's Berkner Hall. Sponsored by Brookhaven Science Associates, the company that manages Brookhaven, the free concert is open to the public. Visitors to the Laboratory age 16 and over must bring a photo ID.

Winner of the Silver Medal at the Segovia International Guitar Competition at the age of 17, Galbraith has gone on to play in fine concert halls around the world. Galbraith uses an eight-string guitar, an instrument that he helped to develop, which is superbly suited to his unique playing style and personal repertoire. His groundbreaking guitar design and musical originality have resulted in a series of critically acclaimed recordings of works by Bach, Haydn and Brahms, along with his own arrangements of folk tunes.
