Pianist Rui Shi to Give a Concert at Brookhaven Lab, November 30

UPTON, NY - Pianist Rui Shi will give a concert at the U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory on Wednesday, November 30, at noon in Berkner Hall. Sponsored by Brookhaven Science Associates, the company that manages Brookhaven Lab, the concert is free and open to the public. All visitors to the Laboratory age 16 and over must bring a photo ID.

A native of China, Rui Shi won her first music competition at age five and went on to win numerous subsequent prizes, including first prize at the Munz piano competition in 2003. At age 15, she was one of the youngest artists to be accepted on full scholarship at the Juilliard School, where she is studying for her master's degree in music under Seymour Lipkin. Shi has appeared in concert in Europe, China, and the U.S. Last year, she performed as part of a memorial service for Christopher Reeve, and the event also featured Senator Hillary Clinton, Meryl Streep, and Robin Williams.
