Symposium Celebrates 60 Years of Discovery at Brookhaven Lab
Full-day event features talks on accelerators, addiction, nanoscience, climate, energy, and more
September 24, 2007

EVENT: As part of its 60th anniversary celebration, the U.S. Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory is hosting a full-day symposium for employees, guests, the media, and others interested in hearing renowned scientists speak about past and current developments in fields in which Brookhaven Lab has been and continues to be a pioneer. Talks on topics ranging from nuclear and particle physics to neuroimaging, nanoscience, climate change, and energy will be followed by a celebratory reception.
WHEN: Friday, October 19, 2007 - 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
WHERE: Berkner Hall Auditorium, Brookhaven National Laboratory - on William Floyd Parkway, 1.5 miles north of Exit 68 of the Long Island Expressway, Upton, New York.
DETAILS: Home to six Nobel Prize-winning discoveries, Brookhaven Lab is a multidisciplinary research institution featuring world-class programs in many of today's top fields in science. This symposium, hosted by Laboratory Director Sam Aronson, will celebrate our past and offer a glimpse of the future through the eyes of those on the front lines of discovery.
