General Lab Information

Nominations are sought for the Laboratory's annual Sambamurti Memorial Lecture, a prize lectureship awarded annialluy to a young (within 20 years of their Ph.D.) high energy or heavy ion experimentalist of outstanding achievement. The lecture describing the work for which the lecturer is being honored, is to be delivered at the RHIC/AGS Users Meeting. There is a $1,000 honorarium for the award.

Instructions for Nomination

Compose an email message and send it to one of the committee members. The initial message need not contain a detailed justification for the nomination, but it should give a reasonable indication of what the candidate has accomplished. Please verify in advance that the candidate is younger than 40 years of age. If the Committee feels that the candidate has a chance to be selected, but that the case is not sufficiently detailed, we will ask for more information in our reply. We also happy to receive unsolicited additional information.

If you nominate someone who isn't chosen in that year, the nominee may considered again in a subsequent year (even if they are not renominated).

Send nominations to the RHIC/AGS Users Executive Committee
