QPress Cluster Tool

The cluster tool enables robotic transfer of substrates through a variety of modules. The tool itself features integrated modules for thermal and plasma processing of substrates and materials deposition, as well as a sample “library” for long-term storage of substrates and intermediate samples. Overall, the cluster tool—which integrates with the QPress-specific modules described on this website—allows automated (robotic and programmatic) routing of samples through all the preparation, synthesis, and processing steps for layered materials research.
