In addition to scientific research, the C2QA has a mission to cultivate the QIS ecosystem. Make an impact on this mission by choosing an action below to be involved in today!

Colloquium Speakers

We are currently seeking colloquium speakers for our spring 2022 series. The colloquium’s target audience is our C2QA community, which typically has an audience size of approximately 80. Speakers should be external to C2QA and provide an overview, or recent result of interest, to our Center. Please nominate the speaker by sending the speaker’s name, institution, and topic to c2qa-colloquium-committee@brookhavenLab.onmicrosoft.com or Donna Cusa (dcusa@bnl.gov).

Quantum Thursday Speakers

We are currently seeking speakers AND nominations for speakers for our Spring and Fall 2022 Quantum Thursdays seminar series (including one for March 31!). Quantum Thursdays are student-oriented seminars pitched to an undergraduate/early graduate student level audience. Approximately 70 students attend, and they have high participation from minority-serving institutions. Presentations are made by C2QA members and should include overviews of your research and career path. If you would like to present or nominate a postdoc or senior graduate student from your group to present, please reach out to Diana Murphy at dfmurphy@bnl.gov. This is an excellent opportunity to refine your talk for the general, college educated STEM community.

Quantum Computing Summer School – QIS 101

In preparation for QIS 101 this summer, we are looking for four speakers on June 15, 22,and 29, and July 13, for 60- to-90-minute presentations, including questions on your area of research and career path. We want to give undergraduate students a taste of what is happening in QIS research today. These students must have previously completed courses in computer science, integral calculus, and introductory physics –providing guidance on the target level for the presentations. Please nominate yourself or a colleague/group member and contact Diana Murphy at dfmurphy@bnl.gov if you are interested.

DOE SULI Summer Internship Program

The Department of Energy's (DOE) Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship (SULI) program encourages undergraduate (2-year and 4-year) students to pursue STEM careers by providing research experiences at a DOE laboratory. We are looking for principal investigators (not necessarily within a DOE lab) to mentor students for the 10-week summer program. If you are interested or have more questions, please contact Ken White at kwwhite@bnl.gov.
