The Office of the Vice President for Brookhaven Laboratory Affairs has implemented a minibus route between Stony Brook University and Brookhaven National Lab. The intent of this service is to provide easily accessible transportation for students, faculty and staff working at both Stony Brook University and Brookhaven National Laboratory and is supported by the VPBLA, the Office of the Vice President for Research and the Graduate School.
We welcome our Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) colleagues to the Stony Brook Campus. As a courtesy, non-student employees of BNL are eligible for a Stony Brook University Faculty/Staff parking permit, which allows you to park in Faculty/Staff parking lots on campus.
As of November 1, 2010, BNL parking permits will no longer be honored as valid parking permits and you will be ticketed. You must have a valid Stony Brook parking permit to park on campus. PERMITS NEED TO BE RENEWED EVERY TWO (2) YEARS.
To obtain a SBU Faculty/Staff parking permit you must first be entered into our SBU system as an affiliate of the University. Instructions for applying for a permit can be found at the Stony Brook Office of Brookhaven Affairs web site. The application can be done by email and the permit will be mailed directly to the employee.
Please contact Laura Lyons (Laura.Lyons@StonyBrook.edu) of the Office of Brookhaven Affairs if you need assistance.
To purchase a parking garage pass for the garage attached to the Administration Building, a BNL employee must visit the card office (Room 103 of the Administration Bldg) and show their BNL ID badge to obtain an SBU ID card. The libraries provide hundreds of databases and state-of-the-art information services, serving students, faculty, and the surrounding community.
