WDTS Pathway Summer Institute: Sensors in Scientific Investigations

Sensors in Scientific Investigations is a four-week training institute that will equip secondary STEM educators with the skills needed to integrate technology and coding techniques into scientific investigations across all subject areas, with particular emphasis on interdisciplinary earth and environmental sciences. Participants will spend four weeks onsite at BNL exploring sensor-based scientific investigations in physics, earth science, biology and chemistry that utilize computational skills.
Participants will meet renowned BNL research staff through activities, guest lectures, and facility tours, as they learn more about opportunities and research across the Department of Energy National Laboratory complex. Throughout the program, the participants will develop their own computational and/or sensor-based STEM activities and produce an implementation plan for their classroom. At the culmination of the program, they will utilize their newly developed activity to engage with high school students.
