Participants will meet in the Brookhaven Ballroom.
Directions

  • Departure from JFK via bus on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at 2 p.m. – location of pick ups to follow
  • Workshop begins 5 p.m.
  • End of event shuttle from Danfords pick up is 1 p.m. to JFK. Arrival at airport will be approx. 3-4 p.m.
  • Second shuttle will pick up at Danfords on Wednesday, April 1st, 2020 at 1 p.m. for travel to BNL for tour
  • Tour shuttle departs from BNL at 5 p.m. for travel to JFK. Arrival at airport will be approx. 7-8 p.m.

Accommodations

Registered participants should not call the workshop hotel to make their room reservation. The workshop will prepare a room list and cover accommodations

NSLS-II Facility Tour

Participants and guests (age 16+) can tour the National Synchrotron Light Source II, a state-of-the-art, 3 GeV electron storage ring that provides world-leading capabilities for X-ray imaging and high-resolution energy analysis.

Access to Event for Non-U.S. Citizens

  • Non-U.S. Citizens must complete the Additional BNL Guest Registration form and be approved in the BNL Guest Information System (GIS) if they would like to attend this workshop in-person or remotely (if available) if attending virtually.

    If you have a current BNL Appointment and a valid BNL Guest Number or you have a pending BNL Guest Registration (GR) Number, it is not necessary to complete the Additional BNL Guest Registration form again.

Visa Information

Participants should check if they require a visa to enter the United States on the U.S. Department of State's U.S. Visas website.

Foreign travelers, who are citizens from certain eligible countries, may also be able to visit the U.S. for business (e.g. attend a scientific conference) or tourism for 90 days or less without a visa if they meet the Visa Waiver Program requirements. All eligible travelers who wish to travel under the Visa Waiver Program must apply for authorization on-line through ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization).
