Motivation
Since 2012, the Workshop on Modeling & Simulation of Systems and Applications has served as a forum for engaging, educating, and expanding the ModSim research community. Over the years, the workshop has surveyed the state of the art and explored emerging directions that shape how ModSim is developed and applied across academia, industry, and government.
As artificial intelligence reshapes science and high-performance computing systems evolve toward increasingly heterogeneous and data-driven architectures, this year’s workshop focus is ModSim-integrated AI and HPC. The community is at a crossroads as AI and modeling and simulation combine to reveal new methods for accelerating discovery; improving predictive capabilities; and enabling more adaptive, efficient compute capabilities. ModSim 2026 will bring together researchers and practitioners to explore how ModSim, AI, and HPC can be combined to advance scientific computing and address complex challenges in the AI era.
