Brookhaven Lab Scientists Granted Emeritus Status

Brookhaven Science Associates (BSA), the company that manages Brookhaven Lab for the U.S. Department of Energy, granted emeritus status to 13 scientists—Samuel Aronson, Vasilis Fthenakis, Jonathan Hanson, Laurence Littenberg, Morgan May, James Muckerman, Frank Paige, David Schlyer, Nikolaos Simos, Suresh Srivastava, William Studier, Subramanyam Swaminathan, and Peter Takacs—since 2014.

Emeritus status is in recognition of scientists who had made noteworthy contributions to the Laboratory's reputation as a world-class scientific institution. Emeritus scientists remain connected to—and with the concurrence of their associate laboratory director engage in—activities beneficial to the Laboratory. Emeritus status is granted by the approval of the Laboratory Director upon recommendation of the scientist's Department Chair and ALD.
